Character Education

Character Education’s purpose is to help students develop strong character. The objectives focus on nine character traits throughout the year, reward students who exemplify them, and raise awareness of the importance of character in daily life. The St. Stephen’s program is grounded in the belief that a nurturing environment instills in each child a respect for oneself and one’s community. St. Stephen’s believes that the individual spiritual growth and community worship are important elements of the complete child." St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School is a family that includes the faculty, administration, staff, students, parents, alumni, and parishioners of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Together we seek to grow in faith and understanding.

The Character Traits for the 2007–2008 school year are:

September:  Respect

October:  Acceptance

November:  Service

December:  Kindness

January:  Perseverance

February:  Love

March:  Honesty

April:  Integrity

May:  Patience
