Mrs. Tappert attended a class in August in Virginia sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in conjunction with George Mason University. There were a total of twenty teachers and administrators participating from all across the U.S. She will be teaching several lessons this year as part of this year-long course with her 5 grade Accelerated Math students. It will culminate with a celebration of π, 3.14…., quite appropriately the week of March 14.
