Each year,
Second Grade goes on a tour of the world, right in our
own classroom. Parents share their knowledge of
the country of their choice throughout the school year.
In addition, they bring native foods and various items
to give the students the experience of being in that
country. Each child is given a souvenir that may
be kept in their Tour Bag. Each child also has a
passport that is signed by the parent giving the tour.

We
started the year with Mrs. Jones
giving us a tour of the good ole USA! Using the
Smart Board, students saw the entire country - from the
Statue of Liberty in New York to the Alamo in Texas,
from the antebellum district of Charleston, South
Carolina to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco,
California. We ate some tasty American food - hot
dogs, potato chips and apple pie. Each child was
given a US flag and a star spangled necklace too.
We really enjoyed seeing what the USA has to offer!
