After having had a post doctoral fellowship at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego, he moved to the University of Miami in 1967, where he is a faculty member in the Division of Marine Geology and Geophysics, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. He is a naturalized citizen of the United States. He is interested in all facets of education, especially in the adequate production of scientists, on which the wellbeing of our country and the Earth rests.
