Bonell Denton

Bonell Denton was born in Oklahoma and is a registered member of the Oklahoma Cherokee Indian tribe.  His father as in oil exploration and the family moved many times during Bonell's childhood.  He lived in 11 different states and attended school in 31 different towns as he grew up.  He moved to Miami in 1958.  He is married to Nancy, who is a lifetime member of St. Stephen's.  Together they have three children by birth and several others that they claim as extended family who have lived with them over the years.  They now have eight grandchildren, two of whom attend St. Stephen's Church. 

Bonell worked for a school supply firm for 27 years, many of those as a manager.  He spent 31 years with the Florida National Guard, the last of which were fulltime.  He retired as a Lt. Colonel.  He also spent six years in the health and life insurance business.  He is now "retired" and seems to work harder than ever.  He's been a member of St. Stephen's Church since 1961 and served on the Vestry a number of times.  As Junior Warden and Senior Warden, he has also served on the Board of Trustees several times under four different heads of school.
