Computer

The purpose of the computer education program at St. Stephen's is to encourage students to use computers as a tool to accomplish a variety of tasks. Students are introduced to numerous applications that provide them with technology skills such as keyboarding, word processing, internet research and more. Net etiquette and safety are major priorities of the program, and the students and parents must sign and adhere to an acceptable use policy.

Half of the students in Senior Kindergarten through Grade 3 classes alternate 30 minute sessions each week. A trimester concentration of computer classes takes place for the upper elementary students. Grades 4-6 go to the lab four days a week for 30 minutes during one trimester and they have an optional 45 minute weekly block for the other two. The sixth grade class is issued a laptop for use at school to prepare them for entrance into laptop middle schools.
